    Hi All
I need to disable IPv6 on my OP 6T running 10.0.1. The Device is not rooted. Is there any way to do it or I have to root it first?

    Thanks

No. IPv6 is gonna need to be required as v4 is running out of addresses to give.

People read conspiracy theories too much these days

You really do not need to disable ipv6. Learn how to configure it properly instead

the question was how to disable IPv6 on OP 6T without root, not asking about IPV4 availability

Considering you don't know how to Google "disable ipv6 andorid", you are wasting your time by making the thread. Also why would you need to disable it? It literally does no harm.

Anyway to answer your question, you can't disable IPv6 (on sim) as that requires modifying APN settings which you can't do on OnePlus phones.

Please, don't judge and do suggestions on the topics you don't know. I have modified APN setting of my USA provider and when I'm not at home, OP uses 4G LTE and the IP address is in IPv4. No issue here, my USA home broadband provider gave me a router in which I can't disable IPv6. Even manual DHCP binding doesn't help as the real IP address is set to be IPv6. On any PC and laptop, I can do the same and it works. However, the only way I can fix my issue is to disable IPv6 on the mobile phone so I force the broadband router to switch to IPv4.
So back to square one: how to disable IPv6 on OP 6T without root. I know that I can do it with the root but it is too much hassle to root OP 6T. Unless, I can do it with out losing all data on mobile.
    Thanks

wow, you know so much! when I'm back to the UK I use my EE sim card and I have no issues using modified APN settings with IPv4 only. The same for home broadband, I have just disabled IPv6 and all works perfectly.
As I said please read the question and if you have nothing smart to say don't!

I do need to disable IPv6 on my OP 6T and not because I'm scared but some services not compatible with IPv6.

You never mentioned why you want to do this.

correct, the question was how to disable IPv6, not asking advice on whether to keep IPv6.

But WHY do you want to remove IPv6? That's what I'm asking. What do you benefit from?

I have 7 SIP phone providers configured on my OP and few of them do not support IPv6.
