It's been 6-7 months since the last update and I must say I'm disappointed in oneplus for failing to at least fix the camera, especially video recording. I put my belief too much on oneplus releasing a new update that I've been checking this forum virtually every day since the last update. I give up now!

Tbh bro it's been 2 years and the OP2 isn't fixed and almost 1 year of updates and the 3's ain't fixed either.
So you had no chance of seeing it fixed.
I watched an Erica Griffin video the other day and she kept returning S8's until she got one she was happy with. She said, " anything remotely hardware related return the device. DON'T listen to, fix with UPDATES."
Good luck on your next venture and bare these words in mind, I adopted that very statement since i had an OPO.

Definitely! I just didn't know about the OPX's video failure before I got it. I enjoy every other aspect of this phone though.

They haven't announced whether they are or not, so theoretically it could happen. However, it's very unlikely at this point. I can't speak for the OnePlus 2 too much because I don't own the phone, nor have I been keeping up with it, but the OnePlus X hasn't had an update since September. Even when there were updates, the camera HAL was never perfected. For the record, I think the camera quality is alright, but definitely not "impeccable" like they said it would be.

It's business, they are not going to spend money updating a phone that is not making any money

No not really, but I'll be assuming those are bad references, so I'll 100% agree on that
