@mattyelle1 do you guys have any idea why with certain apps I'm only getting the notifications once I open the app? like eBay and the community app for example? like once I open it I get hit with notifications for that app.

Hi, go into setting and tap apps and notifications then select the apps you are having problems and click on notifications, in there the should be setting for notifications. I can't guarantee this will work but have a look [e]1f44d[/e]

I've noticed on my oneplus 7 pro if I have power saving switched on its stops a load of things working, try turning it off and see what happens if that still doesn't work best have a look online is my best advice

that is because you have your background data turned off

Oneplus has always had issues with this. Go to battery settings, battery optimization, hit the 3 dot menu, hit Advanced Optimization in that menu.

    Turn OFF both options.

However, I have a feeling that these settings either aren't sticking properly or the Community app's background service just dies. It's hard to tell. If both options are already off, open a bug report. If you do, shoot me the URL and I'll add a comment as well since the Community app only sometimes works.

by app will let the app run in Doze and your phone may not sleep

Just to clarify, when your phone screen is off and not moving (for a LONG time, like hours) Android puts it to sleep, turns off the wifi, etc. It then wakes up for a "maintenance window" during which apps are given a chance to check for messages and such. This is the regular battery optimization you see, per app, and you normally don't want to turn that off except under specific situations.

The other options in the hidden menu are strictly Oneplus "enhancements". They are not Google approved and generally cause issues. Oneplus changes this stuff around trying to fix it, but its like they are throwing darts at a board.

That will turn off the Oneplus extensions and leaves the default Android optimization.

The Android way, if you leave your phone sitting still for a long time, you might get notifications a bit late or get a bunch when you pick up your phone.

The Oneplus way you get stuff being yanked out of RAM and you don't get shit until you open the app. They **** that up ALL the time

@mattyelle1 did either of you guys try the camera since the update I got today? I never see very big difference with stuff like this cause my eyes just aren't trained/sensitive to stuff like that but I can say the colors before were very bland but now they are definitely a little more punchy and true to life.

yeah I keep finding new bugs. now my speaker is making loud crazy scary static noises out of nowhere. I was just shopping on Amazon and it did it. and of coarse I'm passed the 15 day return period. I've had alot of problems so far.

Take it back to where you bought it from because they should take it out off the guarantee for repairs. Did you have sound playing on your phone at the time? I noticed on my one if I covered the speaker with my hand or finger it sounds bad

    Doesn't OnePlus offer a 1 year warranty? It's a 15 days return policy.

All my complaining about camera aside, I love this phone. Display haptic feedback speed etc are all unprecedented
