    Nord BIG ISSUE
In almost all google apps ,there is a problem.
Firstly i will tell you my settings -
    1.) Adaptive brightness is off
2.) Screen Calibration is set to VIVID which was default
    3.) 40-50% brightness
4.) Sleep is set to 10 mins
5.) Nothing changed in OnePlus laboratory like dimming feature and yes i cannot find it the laboratory in nord.
6.) Default theme which is white

The problem is the display auto dims after 2-3 secs of inactivity and brightness up again after touching it. It's actually quite irritating.
I actually cannot surf internet on google chrome due to this problem.

So i want to know that this problem is to every nord which can be fixed by software update or it's just me having the problem (Some display manufacturing defect might be,will go for replacement/return if any)

In almost every google app, i am having this problem.
Google Chrome ,Gmail and Goole Drive TESTED, all are having this problems.
    Kindly reply.
    Thanks.

    Does everyone have this problem?

As I see, display problems depend on the angle you are watching. If you look to the phone from an normal 90 degrees angle, display will have a yellow/green tint depends if you are on a light or a dark page. If you look from a 45-60 angle everything looks fine. What do we have to do about that?

This issue only happens on LIGHT Colours esp whatsapp background and white pages.

The way its happening for me is that at exactly 90 degrees the display is consistent, but when I tilt the display even 10 degrees more or less, a cooler shade of color tone is observed partially in the screen.

If I tilt it up, the color is cooler on the top half of the screen and warmer in the below half.

I thought this was because of preinstalled screen protector? Have you removed it?

Please find my way to perfectly reproduce:
    1)
purple tinting issue and black bar on dialer at around 5-10% (present at 60 AND 90 Hz)

    2)
green tinting in PlayStore at around 20%.
Interesting is that while in PlayStore the device is able to show normal colours after a short amount of time..so the display is able to handle everything correctly....more and more convinced of a software issue as it only shows up in 90Hz and vanishes in 60Hz

Both issues are NOT solved wih10.5.4!

I contacted support today and they said that I should be calm because there is an OTA on the way to fix any issues...

Then pray to God it's not 10.5.4 they're are talking about as I already sideloaded this update and can tell you it's not fixing anything

Why are the brightness problem and the green/purple issue packed in one topic? They are completely unrelated.

Because it's not. Looking at my video you can clearly see that purple tint is totally dependent from brightness....whereas I agree that the issue of green tint shown in the play store is only showing at higher brightness with 90Hz..

I understand. But there are two issues:

    1. Purple/green tint with lower brightness.

    2. Brightness reduces automatically although adaptive brightness is off.

    Two different problems.

You're right this "non adaptive“ brightness change is an additional issue, but also related to brightness so I guess the thread is basically right for all named
    issues.
    But worst fact is:
Neither of all 3 issues has been fixed yet (tint at low brightness, temporaly tint at higher brightness at 90 Hz and unwanted brightness change)

And: no one from OP has acknowledged that they are working on it. Which is really bad customer relations.

I've tested a bit further on the brightness issue (brightness reduces automatically although adaptive brightness is off). For me it's the same on 60 and 90 hz. So it's not related to refresh rate.

However, it IS related, so it seems, to apps. On my homescreen and in specific apps such as Settings, File Manager, Play Store and Gmail the brightness doesn't reduce automatically. But in most other apps such as Chrome, Maps, Twitter, Whatsapp, YT, MS Outlook etcetera it does reduce automatically after 2-3 seconds, although adaptive brightness is off.

Would be nice if other Nord users with this brightness issue could post here if they experience the same probs with the same apps. Maybe together we can see a patern.

So my experience, as for now (I'm on a light theme):

    Brightness DOESN'T reduce automatically:
    Lockscreen
    Homescreen
    Settings
    File Manager
    Play Store
    Assistant
    Gmail

    Brightness DOES reduce automatically:
    Chrome
    Maps
    Twitter
    YouTube
    Whatsapp
    MS Outlook
    MS Office
