1- not an argument. You said SD cards are prone to failure, them being a separate entity is obvious. Being prone to problems? Anything is a failure point. Including internal nand.
2- OK, then DONT USE THE MICROSD SLOT if you a have one available. I think your missing my point.
3- two days ago 14,000 Linux servers were hacked. And you trust the cloud? What if its confidential information, where legally you can't distribute it? You need hardware backed encryption that your phone supports.
5- having something is worse than not having something?

1- hell yes it is an argument. pls answer this: probability of internal memory failing is the same as micro SD?

2- no you are missing my point. why? because when there's SD, the max memory you get is 64gb and that is recent with the S8! usually it's 32gb and go get an SD...right? if you had 128gb with SD then what you are saying will be true... but we all know this is a rarity, even non-existent. so far, I'm right...

3- anyway and in all cases, even if you had 256gb on your phone and 1TB on your micro SD as you wish, you are still going to back up on the cloud, won't you?

5- please just answer a simple question: why in your opinion neither Apple nor Google added micro SD to their products? is it because they lack the technical ability to do so or maybe they cannot afford it? just why? why in your opinion?

    cheers...

1- no. Your correct in this.
    2. SD slot vs no SD slot doenst effect internal memory. Your saying Samsung used 64gb nand because they included a SD slot. Um, speculation? If that's true then SD is downside, in that one specific instance. But when it doesn't effect the nand or design teams choices regarding the nand it is nothing short of a boon.
3- no. It would be illegal for me to do so. (Medical records) I know I am a 0.00000001% in this, I didn't bring it up before because its irrelavent. But since you asked ;)
5- I don't know. Apple I assume because of security, as their ios doesn't even allow you to print a document as a PDF unless your printing the PDF to an email app. I found this curious, as its limiting what I can do with my phone. Maybe they don't want users to be able to see their file system?

In the case of google, I think it could be image. If someone doenst know their class 10 SD card is 10mbps write, and they ignore the warning of adopted storage it will perform worse. This is part of the core of android, and in the sense of purists they allow you to click through the warnings. Therefore the nexus pixel lineup wont have a modified version that prevents clicking through the warning dialogs. Oxegyn OS is diffrent, they could add three lines of code to prevent someone from ignoring the warnings, and even block a forced fastboot binding of external memory.

    Again this is useless speculation.
In no case is the option of microsd a downside.

    That's not really true.
Only if 2d acc in 1080 vs 1440+ causes the GPU to go up in power state to render the 2d os. If it doesn't, its negligible effect on batt.

3d acc or the cases above makes your statements true.

having the option of SD is not a downside as long as you have enough memory in case you choose not to use SD for people like me. and by enough nand I mean starting 128gb and up.

in my case, I was hesitating between Huawei mate 9 and OP3t. finally got the op3t, why? because with 128gb I still.have a second Sim. in the mate 9, I would lose the SD if I use a second sim , especially that 64gb I believe are not enough...if the mate 9 had 128gb, then different story...besides that I prefer AMOLED over LCD personally...
also when I compared the op3t and pixel XL, I had the option of extra sim besides that op3t costs literally half compared to pixel XL.

I think OP so far made all the right decisions, but for purists not the common people...camera was a slight issue but probably this has been worked on with the OP5.. we'll see if results are good and can compete with pixel, Galaxy and Apple...

you are a real purist. I'm enjoying my discussion with you.

I hardly even notice difference with 500 ppi. Rather have longer battery with lower resolution than get the life sucked empty with high resolution. Just my opinion

Are you saying the camera is better in the OP5 because of megapixel count? Does anyone still believe that lie? There is so much more involved.

He/she is talking about the buy two special or carrier subsidiary version. The prices get close to op5, if not lower. But you don't need two phones, unless your reselling or giving away to family. And carrier means no unlockable bootloader. Op is notorious for good dev support, so that's a factor.

I can't support oneplus as I need an SD card. We all know how the saying goes. No SD slot no buy, we pay we say.

You don't know what you are talking about. In US, Samsung has a trade-in promotion. I can get carrier unlocked S8 for 425 plus tax... But ALL S8/S8+ with Qualcomm 835 going to US have locked boot loader. So, there is no root.
    Instead I "afforded" myself OP5 for 539USD.
