I haven’t been able to find any TPU bumpers so I decided to try to make one instead. All you need is a cheap eBay TPU case, a knife and a pair of scissors.

The process is extremely simple. Poke a hole in the case and roughly cut out an opening big enough for the scissors. Then simply start cutting. My case had a frosted back with different texture to the edges so it had a natural line that I could follow.

I must admit I’m not all that satisfied with the outcome. Sure, the edges are a bit rough and uneven but the main issue is a quite loose fit. Maybe this could have been expected, the back providing support and stiffness is gone. Perhaps a different starting case could have made a difference.

Anyway, to be honest this little project was not a big success but hopefully someone found it interesting.

I did the same with this case, just pushing the back plastic down will do.
The fit is quite loose but it's ok.
Can't believe there's still not a tpu bumper around
