just pick one way and stick with it so there's no confusion. my personal opinion is that you go with how everyone else is doing it in Android so it's the same motion in WhatsApp, phone dialer, and other apps. I hate getting a call and having to figure out which way I need to touch to answer or hang up

I don't get the people that say that swipe up is more natural. How? Your thumb works both up and down. When you scroll a website, it goes up and down. Please explain.

I would only provide the option to reverse the current directions. Otherwise, as of NOW, there is no need to switch to default Android dialer.

I'd like gesture support – to answer, draw a phone handle. To reject, type the person's phone nr and strike it.

Traditionally with an old fixed line phone you picked UP the receiver to answer the phone and put it DOWN to disconnect the call.
It's pretty intuitive the opposite of what OnePlus dialler does right now.
It should be changed so that the entire thing is consistent with the Android environment.

But there is no consistency in the Android environment. Google dialer does one thing, LG does another, op does something else, etc.

That's the problem. The swipe up to answer and swipe down to hang-up is the most natural way.
Google and many others follow it. Even OnePlus did but they changed reversed it IDK why.

Traditionally, with cell phones, you push the green button to make or answer a call, and you push the red one to end the call.

That's because back then you didn't have other ways to interact with the phone other than pressing buttons.
    So that's that.

You can actually use the Google dialler after flashing Google dialler framework.

I actually downloaded the Google dialer apk solely because I can't stand swiping down to answer.
