I think that 4G has it's uses and is spreading quite quickly in the UK. I'm on EE and can get 4G pretty much everywhere besides the countryside.

No my friend, if I remember the Chinese version uses the same chip as the Oppo, which is not 4g enabled.

it's a new tactic I'm trying out.....no one likes to search....
and pointing out the need to search does nothing....
so I'm trying out bald faced lies to see if that will sink in

Same here. I'm very impresses with EE although I saw today that I will be able to use Threes "away from home" or whatever its called, in Spain soon which means I won't have to pay EE £3 a day to use data.

Not trying to be funny bud, but have you read that post. In theory and hardware limitations are the 2 prominent words not will work.
As I said before if my memory serves me correctly the chip used in the OPO has 2 variants same serial but ending in different letters one 3g the other 4g, I maybe wrong but I do remember reading that.
Now if they are using the same chip why would you not enable 4g on your home version.

I've read the post and a dozen or so of the pages in the thread as I'm hoping there is a "fix" for band 20 so have been checking it regularly.

I have this and have done for a while. It's available to 4GEE extra plans, whereby you get roming charges included within europe, calls and texts only though.
