I have bought Oneplus 8t (12 GB RAM + 256 GB) from oneplus website. But there is no option to choose a 5G network in settings> Network mode type. My network provider is Vodafone Ireland which is supporting 5G. I have contacted them and they say all my settings to get a 5G are updated. But there is still no option to choose 5G in my phone's settings. Is the problem with the phone?

Did you check the bands and a coverage map? Also Carrier needs to whitelist device. I know where I am AT&T has not white listed any 8 Series yet, so no 5G yet for me.

Now, Vodafone Ireland sim card does not give me an option to choose 5 g in OnePlus 8t. I have two sim cards from two different providers: "Vodafone Ireland" and "Eir Ireland". When i switched my mobile data to "Eir" , i had in Settings> Network type> 2g/3g/4g/5g option. So, as rsmiley0 says Oneplus is not in white list in Vodafone Ireland. So i am going to move to "Eir".

I can't connect to 5G with Orange Spain sim card on the Oneplus 8T. I have tested the same sim on another device and can connect to 5g perfectly.

I have the t-mobile 5g if I'm on wifi all day or lose reception in a bad area the signal will not come back regardless where I'm at until I restart the phone shouldn't be that hard of a fix right 🤔

Can I correct you on the fact your eyesight does not work? The man clearly said he has a 5G enabled sim!

Could you let me know how recently you got your Eir sim card? I'm abroad and had to return the 8T because it wouldn't recognise the eir (meteor) SIM i was using i.e. it didn't support any network good, bad or indifferent.

From what I've gathered the issue is with the network I'm with 3 Ireland and I've read replies from them saying they need to talk with Oneplus to enable software to use 5g, so until that gets sorted between them you'll just have to wait for an update that will enable 5g on the Oneplus devices.

OnePlus are not willing to answer the question. I've been asking them for 4 months. They promised update after update would resolve this. It's all lies and at this stage I plan to return it for a full refund. Very bad first (and last) experience with OnePlus.
