I read there is a problem or wrong/missing anchor which makes 5G not working even with the same supported NR bands.

It's possible. Until someone tries a Chinese model in the US it will be hard to know. And US carriers don't like unlocked phones on their networks so that's another factor.

I wanted the OnePlus 6 avenger edition so bad that I ended up buying a Chinese version from eBay. I assume you want to use a Chinese OP in the US rather than just travelling with a CN version

    My learnings :

You have to install all Google apps yourself.

I could not change to global ROM from Chinese ROM without flashing. Chinese ROM luckily supported English but that's about it. No other European or Latin American languages

Some third party apps couldn't be uninstalled.

Google Maps started acting up after couple of months. All photos taken would display a location in China for some reason

Most obvious is the need to buy a charging adapter

Certain 5G bands not supported due to carrier limitations. Flashing to global ROM doesn't work either

You can ALWAYS flash the global version on a Chinese OnePlus variant.
Except for my OnePlus One that I bought in France, me previous 5 and 6T came from China where I did a lot of business trips before, and I always flashed Oxygen OS Global version right out of the box. No problem.
My 9 Pro is also from China and I am currently running Oxygen OS India (DA) (installed by my reseller)

Yes, but there is a tutorial on XDA to get 5G back in that case. This is also working for OnePlus phones that "should" receive the 5G but which don't.
Downside is you lose the workaround when you reboot your phone or install an update...

Yes, I agree checking on LTE. It's easier, but ones come to the 5 G, then. It is a different situation,

I actually really want to try out the color os. So so far I have not seen any link showing 。us version flash。color os。
anyone have luck for this ?
