    Hi,

I was thinking about switching to LineageOS once the security updates will be over for the OP6T.
But I was wondering if I will be able to install some apps like Netflix (if I'm not rooted), because I heard that some apps check if the phone has an unlocked bootloader, so even with an unlocked bootloader, can I use my smartphone with a custom rom normally ?

If the Bootloader is unlocked, Netflix and other media subscriptions and even banking may not work as the phone will lose its Google Certified status.

If you do Root the phone you can use Magisk to hide the fact that your bootloader is unlocked and rooted. And those apps should work. But Magisk only does this for a fully rooted phone.

First of all, thanks for answering me, and I know a bit about magisk, but what do you mean by "fully" rooted ?
    - Can I still update my OS while rooted ?
    - Is it safe to use root daily ? Or is it meanless in our days
    - I found on the internet that Magisk can't hide the unlocked bootloader (but the articles dated were written in march 2020)

When rooted. You can only update using Full Zip OOS files of the new version, and it's done through TWRP.

However some Custom OS Roms will update via their OTA. All depends on the Custom OS you choose. You will have to read their info regarding updates.

Magisk is constantly being updated to ensure use of the various apps that may be affected by rooting a phone. Shouldn't be an issue once you get used to working with Magisk if you are rooted.

To find out more about Magisk, I would suggest reading the info on it at XDA. It would explain a lot more than I can here.

You also have modules for Magisk as well. Again you would get more info on them on XDA. The Sticky threads at the first link below will give you a lot of information.

No I thought it was only for the os that came out in 2020, but actually my oneplus 6t from 2018 has hadrware_backed attestation, so SafetyNet checks bootloader on many devices
