Does the OnePlus 7 pro work with DASH chargers?

    Maor Shabi, May 18, 2019 :
hey , I've got the OnePlus 3T with the DASH charger and im thinking about switching to the OnePlus 7 pro, but the thing is that in my country the carriers for some reason take the dash charger out of the box and if you want it you need to buy it separately (like i did..).

I've been heard that the WARP charge is just a new name to the DASH charge (cause of copyrights or something) and it brings me to my question- will my dash charger that I know for sure supports the 6T , work with the new OnePlus 7 pro?

    thank you for your answers

Dash charger will with work with OP7 pro, but it will charge at dash charge only and not at warp charge. Dash charge works at 20W and wrap at 30W. You need the right adaptor, wires are interchangeable.

thanks, and you mean that the WARP charger need to be a bit faster than the DASH charge according to OnePlus and the fact it runs at 30v, right?

Yes warp charges at 30v and dash charges at 20v.

So you’ll loose a bit of speed but it’ll still be fast.

Yes Warp charge > Dash charge and all it takes it the right adaptor. To be honest, practically it won't make much of a difference as dash charge is equally fast.

yeah DASH charge is already super fast and I've seen that there isn't much of a different or even not at all in between the DASH charge and the WARP charger.

    It's 30 watt (volt × Ampere = Watt)

    ( Power = Potential Difference × Current )

If you charge the phone during a regular scenario it isn't going to matter how fast it charges. I charge my phone at night mostly while sleeping so what do I care if it charges quickly or not. I think either charger would be okay for topping phone off for quick trips out of the house if necessary.

I have bought OnePlus 7 Pro and tried to charge it using already owned OnePlus Dash Car Charger and Dash Charger Cable. The result is that I am not getting Dash Charge speed of charging. The highest power output is at 1700 mA, Dash Charge is double that.

Is the Dash Car Charger NOT able to charge at expected speed when used with OnePlus 7 Pro?

Yes, it does. I've been using my OnePlus 3 Dash Charger to charge my 7Pro.

It charges at 20W but its considerably faster as the difference between 20W and 30W is just 10 minutes for 0 to 60% charge, which IMHO is negligible.

I am actually getting same result as kotolows. I have OnePlus 6 Dash car charger and it also does NOT charge at dash Speeds.

Question, do you know when you plug it in and it's showing special icon on the top right and it's telling you that it's charging at DASH speed. People who saying that it works did you actually SEE message that it's dash and special icon ?

Also I'll use my USB voltage meter and get you a photo of what do I have. Also just FYI my OnePlus 6 using same cable and same charge does work and charging at DASH Speeds. So as of right now My OnePlus 7 Pro in the cash is getting "generic" power even using Dash hardware from previous phone and it SUCKS !

I seen your post earlier today and figured I would give it the test since I have both chargers, first is my disclaimer.

My results are mine and mine only. Your results may, and/or be different. I claim nothing but my test for information purposes.

I started with Dash charging block and Warp charging block. I used same cable on both tests that came with the 7 pro. I used the same electrical socket. I used my 6T countdown clock set at 30 minutes.

Test #1 7pro shutdown started at 15%. At the end of 30 minutes, I booted up and had 61%. This was with the Dash charging block.

Test #2 same 7 pro started at 15%. End of 30 minutes, I booted up and had 62%. This is with the Warp charger.

My opinion, the claim of 30% better is a boat load of Huey.

According to AccuBatteryPro, the 6T claims to have a 3700 m/a battery design. They claim estimated capacity is 3552 m/a.

7 Pro has 4000 m/a battery design, estimated capacity is 3656 m/a. This is why my 7 Pro dies just as quick as the 6T. My 5T lasts longer than both of these with 3000 m/a estimated capacity.

I hope this helps. Let the haters pile on!

Go to the play store and download AccubatteryPro, its free. You will see in milliamps exactly what both chargers are doing.

Dash charging block will go to 3300 to 3500 m/a at first, but within 30 seconds it drops back to 1000 to 1200 m/a.

Warp charger will go to 5100 to 5200 m/a for 15 to 20 seconds, then drops back to 1000 to 1200. In essense its the same charger that performs identical. Nothing more than a gimmick for sales.

I did a real time test and posted the results, check it out....
