I was somehow misled to believe that tempered glass can prevent crack screen

    THEY DONT full stop
    Screen Shot 2014-09-23 at 23.36.04.png

can anyone tell me where can I replace the screen. (UK) been reading around, it seems to me the only way at the moment is to pay £210 and file RMA which apparently takes very very long time.

    Any suggestion will be appreciated!

In terms of tempered glass protecting screens, they protect it the best. There will be moments where the screen protector doesn't completely protect it, but in those situations nothing else would protect it either.

TL;DR - It failed, but there's nothing better. Your phone seems to have hit a rock or something.

Tempered screen protectors only protect your phone only upto a limit.. better buy a case with edges more than than the opo screen..

If you were thinking that tempered glass would protect from anything you were not very clever.

    Btw. How it happened ?

To repair you have to contact the technical support. It costs 147€ including shipping

That looks to be multiple hits on protruding objects. I have seen the screens on eBay, and I know there is a tutorial online on how to take it apart, so there is always that. Heck, with my first smartphone, I became a champ at changing the screen.

Don't tell me....you dropped it 0.5 cm onto a duvet and the screen exploded. There's a million threads the same but no point us wearing out the search facility in case we need it for something important one day I guess

Sorry to see that mate :(

The fact is that the only protector that might actually prevent the screen from cracking is a RhinoShield.

And the only way to fix the screen is to RMA it through OnePlus I'm afraid. But think of it this way, The phone will still be cheaper than other high-end phones.

Hit me up if you want an invite to replace your phone:) (others don't bother)

From the looks of that, nothing would have protected it enough.

no screen protector or case is 100%.

The only guaranteed way to keep it from breaking is to never drop it.

You're better off buying a new phone for that repair price.
