Hi, I want to downgrade my OnePlus 2 from the beta of Oxygen OS 3.0 to Oxygen OS 2.2.1, but I don't know how to do it.
I have already tried to flash the Oxygen OS 2.2.1 in recovery stock but the installation fails...

Anyone who has done this or know how to do it??

Unlock your bootloader and install the latest twrp recovery then do a clean flash and finally flash the oxygenos 2.2.1 zip

Go on youtube and look for the official oneplus video. They teach you how to root and unlock your bootloader. Technically, unlocking bootloader does wipe your data but if I remember correctly, the video does contain a way to backup your data before you wipe it then restore it later.

That being said, since you've flashed OOS3, I'd recommend researching more since there are certain steps involved when you downgrade from 3 to 2.2.1 plus search for threads by Naman Bhalla, it has a tutorial explaining how to downgrade once you flash twrp.

That would lose your data and it's not necessary in order to get back to 2.2.1 (I believe).

How does the installation fail, what error does it give? Did you wipe cache and data before flashing?

Go to the instruction thread that @Naman Bhalla created in the Op2 section of the forum.

It explains what recoveries and files you need to revert back to 2.2.1

Read post #11 on this thread.

Out of curiosity, why do you want to downgrade?

I am going to do the same - 3.0.1 back to 3.0.0
Bluetooth has never been good on the OnePlus 2 , and it got a little better with 3.0.0. but now it is back to it's previous poor state, connecting and disconnecting all the time, no good with my TomTom. Perhaps the profiles are missing or damaged.....

Ah! Battery life. Frankly i never got more than 4.5 hrs on Lollipop but i managed.
Did you try 3.0.0? That was bad. BAD. 2.5 hrs max and not enough standby time either. 3.0.1 feels like a blessing, frankly. i get approx 5hrs SOT over a standby time of 22-25 hrs. I dont think i need more.
Hope rolling back fixes your issues.

the betas are inconsistent. I'd say you might want to reflash 3.0.1 and try it out. it feels so much better than 3.0.0. Its beginning to get the feel of Oxygen OS again with the tiny UI customisations.

@pranayysharma I went to the service centre today and they flashed marshmallow saying that it is the stable one! I checked with them and they said that it hasn't been released online but we have it. Now, i don't know whether this is the stable one or they flashed 3.0.1 again. Certainly the battery life has become better now. Oxygen 3.0.0 was a blessing for me considering the battery life!
