WOHOO!!!! I got a problem on my OP2 after 2.5 years of usage.

After a download is complete the notification is still there and I can't remove it.
When restarting it's gone but every time I download something new, jpg, pdf, flac it's there again.

    Any solutions or work arounds?

You probably tried wiping cache from Recovery right? ;)

    Haha ( I decerved that reply) , it's clean as a whistle.

I found a way to get rid of the notification via android central dot com.

Force stop the app you began the download from and the notification is gone.

The problem child is Chrome browser and not the download manager. (now I need another browser).
I feel really embarrassed how simple it was:oops:

Yes but the question is do you have to do that every time when you download something or was this a one time fix?

Seems like it is working OK now so my guess is that it was a bug or a broken header that interfered with other downloads.

My problem was with Chrome, I'm getting normal app notifications and downloads via Drive and MEGA also work as they should.

I have this, but on a OP 3T (OOS 9.0.2) using Firefox. I can disable notifications for downloads but it's quite usefull to know when your download is over...
So I force close each time.

It never happened before, it's only since the upgrade to OOS 9.0.2

Anyone find a fix for this? It happens every download and force stopping is only a workaround.

Interesting that 3 people all of a sudden get the same bug from the same app a year later. I never had the problem again on the OP2 or any newer phone.

It seems like browser problem, try the new version of the browser, it will go away :)

    I have this problem too.
On samsung galaxy s8 plus, using firefox.
Download notification gets stuck, have to force close each time.

Seems like this is an android bug ("feature").

    I found a permanent solution :
I also faced the same problem (OnePlus 3, OS 9.0.6, Chrome Browser)

After trying different things, I came to realize that the problem is due to Chrome Browser (It's not occurring due to OS update or Mobile version (like OnePlus 3 or 5 or 7))

Solution : I went to Play Store and checked for Chrome update (Luckily there is an update), I clicked on the update and surprisingly (after chrome update) download notifications are going away as intended.

I suggest you to please check whether there is any latest chrome update available in Play Store..

    Hope this helps.. ☺️

Of course the problem goes away.

Updating forces the app to stop to clear the OSGi stack. Nothing new here...

I got this same issue with a 3t 9.0.6. but just had one stacked. This simple but useful fix worked 100% for me.

I don't know if anyone has posted this but while I was on here hoping for a solution, I just got fed up and went into the settings for chrome, not the actual settings for the chrome app, but the settings for notifications for your apps and I saw "downloads" was checked but "completed downloads" was unchecked. I checked it, went to download something and then tried to swipe away the notification and it went away! Don't know if that will work for you guys but it worked for me!
