    Hello,

OnePlus didn't add 5G to the carrier policy on OnePlus 7 5G , OnePlus 8 Pro and OnePlus 8 .

Here is the way to enable 5G on the phones mentioned above OS 11 – Android 11 :

If your OnePlus 8 pro , OnePlus 8 or Oneplus 7T pro 5G is not connecting to 5G in 5G covered area .

    # Use single 5G SIM card in number 1 slot.

    Follow the steps here:

    Requirements:

1- install EngineerMode apk manually on your Oneplus phone:
    http://www.mediafire.com/file/2pr75mgbtq2xv2e/Engineeringmode_V1.01.0.17.apk/file

2- On your computer you need to have OnePlus driver installed:
    http://www.mediafire.com/file/zkua1ob0dzaor09/OnePlus_USB_Driver_Setup.exe/file

3- QPST-application. Please find application from internet:
    http://www.mediafire.com/file/2nb7d9k4vehvf7m/QPST_2.7.496.zip/file

4- The two XML files with enabled 5G http://www.mediafire.com/folder/4l2vlenf869pu/5G_Carrier_Policy

    5- Qualcomm Drivers .
    http://www.mediafire.com/folder/5mzfw32i8dlp5/Qualcomm Drivers
(unzip the files to a folder)

6- USB-cable between your computer and phone.

    When you finish and ready:
1- Go to Settings on your Phone – About Phone – Click 8 times on Build number .

2- Go back to Settings – Developer option – Enable USB debugging.

3- On your phone, dial *#801# Use EngineerMode then put Engineer Mode Toggle (ON).

4- Connect your phone to your computer via USB.

5- Go to Control Panel – Device Manager .. you will see two an unknow device.

Right click on the first one – Update Driver – browse my computer drivers - Let me pick form a list of available drivers- click on Have Disk ..- show all devices browse then go to the Qualcomm Drivers that you download earlier. Then do the same to the other unknown Driver. choose 9018 for both unknown drivers.

6- Open then QPST-application. Click on Add new port from the right corner. if it shows 2 add them both.

7- On the menu highlight the port which shows the (Phone Model) Open Start Clients then QPST EFS Explorerand wait until you see the files.

    8- Then go to policyman.

9- In the policyman - right list, you will see two files: carrier_policy.xml and carrier_policy.xml_Subscription01. Copy them to your computer as a backup if you need them in the feature.

10 - Now delete the two files (carrier_policy.xml and carrier_policy.xml_Subscription01) files from the policyman - right list.

11- Now go to the tow XML files you already download earlier – 5G enabled network. Copy them to the policymandirectory , drop and drag one each time.

12- Reboot your phone , your 5G is enabled now.

13- Dial *#801# Use EngineerMode then put Engineer Mode Toggle (OFF).

On OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro you may have to enable 5G NR via *#*#4636#*#* then Phone Information -> Set preferred network type. Choose:

    NR/LTE/TDSCDMA/CDMA/EvDo/GSM/WCDMA

    Or

    NR/LTE/TDSCDMA/GSM/WCDMA

    Enjoy the 5G speed .

Is it correct that the Qualcomm download is just one single .inf file?

Does this survive reboot? I have to run *#*#4636#*#* every time.

I also cant chose 5G from the preferred network dropdown, it just shows 5G after triggering #*#4636#*#* in the menu but no dropdown

    Unfortunately,
    You have to run *#*#6463#*#*
After every reboot on the phone.

I know this an easy fix , OnePlus can update very easy ... I am not sure why OnePlus didn't fix this issue since January 2020 !???

Could we just download the official rom's here, open up with winrar and put the 4G & 5G in to open up the bands so we can use them as Oneplus wont?

We have the same situation bro. It will show 5g in menu but when you click in the dropdown list, it doesn't have the 5g.

This setting should be done and added by OnePlus .

I have been explaining this since January 2020 to OnePlus team with no luck to fix it !!!!!

Please help me to reach OnePlus about this to add a fix to the next coming updates.

Oh I've tried talking to their 'support' on twitter and ended up going around in circles, I got the impression they just fob people off to answer as many people as possible rendering it pointless, this will be the last Oneplus device I buy
