Hi friends
The first masterclass video is up and running and now the real fun starts. In this video, we asked you to send us some questions relating to smartphone filmmaking. We’re excited to hear from all of you and will try to answer as many questions as we can. Use #OnePlusMasterclass as a title for your questions to Giacomo and he will try to help you get the creative juices flowing.
The next step is to ask yourself the question: “Do I have a story to share?”. Tell us what it is by filling in this
Google Form. Submit your idea with a title and well-formulated plot. Explain how the story will begin, what will happen in the middle and finally, how it will end.
We will select the top ideas and these finalists will then progress to the next round.
How to submit your idea:
- Create your own Forum account if you don't have one yet.
- Take your time to make sure you have a clear idea of what your vision is for this short story.
- Think of a catchy movie title and tell us what your idea is in 250 to 300 words. Divide the story into 3 sections: Start, middle and end.
- Then, click on the Google Forms link to submit your story between now and 11 March.
How does it work?
For the next couple of weeks, we’ll be releasing instructional videos on the fine art of film making, from concept to final product. Not only will you be able to learn from Giacomo himself, but you will also be able to join our competition and stand the chance of winning some pretty awesome prizes.
Each video will contain a movie-based task for you, our budding filmmakers, to complete. Once submitted we’ll select the top candidates. These candidates will go through to the next round and will eventually be in line for the chance to win the grand prize of $10,000.
What are the prizes?
We want to encourage all our contestants to dig deep and produce really high-quality footage. In order to help with this, our top 10 finalists will each receive a OnePlus 6T on which to shoot their final films. Out of these 10 contestants, we will select the final winners.
- First prize - $10,000, two OnePlus devices and a gimbal.
- Second prize - $4,000 and two OnePlus devices.
- Third prize - $2,000 and one OnePlus device.
