I'm using OP3T... And I'm a newbie in development in Android... One of my friend unlocked bootloader and installed paranoid extended version , rooted my phone, installed twrp, changed partition to exfat4 (or something.. I don't know exactly).. Now whenever my phone reboots I get a warning mentioning that "dm-verity enforcing error"...now I just want to go back to original phone... I want to use as it was when I bought...
lately I tried to flash open beta 17 using twrp.. and these errors came...

Which TWRP version are you using?

Older versions used to give out that error but I think the newer ones don't.

In that case, the only way I see is to flash Oxygen recovery and then flash the Beta.

he needs to update the firmware.

flash the firmware first before flashing the ROM.

look for which firmware to use on the ROM page.

    EDIT

SORRY, THOUGHT YOU ARE FLASHING A CUSTOM ROM.

look for another compatible TWRP for Oreo. If not, do as @dsmonteiro said.

    yes.

these terms are often used interchangeably.

I think by firmware they mean the boot, modem and kernel. the file size is below 50 MB on XDA.

Since he's in the last stable version why would he need to do that? It just appears that TWRP is not correctly identifying the device, which should be fixable by using the stock recovery.

I'm not sure this is the only way so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

he may not have to do that like you said. I have edited my previous post.

the TWRP (Oreo compatible one from Akhil Narang on XDA) that I have can flash the stable versions of Oxygen OS which are still Nougat based. but when i flash the Oreo build (open beta), my phone refuses to boot. so the only way i managed to flash the open beta was by replacing TWRP with stock recovery, and change it back to TWRP after flashing the ROM.

some others have reported that it worked fine for them with TWRP. may be they are using a different version of TWRP.

I was getting that "Error 7" for the last couple of months when flashing newer versions of RR ROM. I managed to fix it by flashing the new "firmware" as they call it on XDA.

In India you should install the official OxygenOS otherwise you will not get JIO VoLTE.

Jio volte works fine on both stable and open beta. the problem on open beta, in a few cases, is only one sim works at a time (this is the one for which mobile data is enabled by default).

That error doesn´t really matter but if it annoys you there is a method. BUT you´ll have to do some reading to know what you´re doing. If you´re not confident you know how to do this DON´T DO IT, you can screw things up. I have absolutely no responsibility for what you do.
