EU OnePlus 8 protection plan update

    Friends,

    Today we are happy to introduce the OnePlus protection plan in 27 European countries making sure you're covered if you accidentally damage your OnePlus 8 series device. During the unprecedented time of COVID-19, the abundance of unknowns has made it challenging to provide a consistent service, it was clear for us that to provide the best customer experience means to move forward and work around these challenges ahead of us.

    Thanks to each member of the OnePlus team for putting all their efforts to overcome those challenges such as switching from offline to online keynote and quickly adjusting many of our launch plans within a short period of time. We also thank our official insurance partners in Europe, who worked around the clock, despite the time zone differences making sure to roll out the new protection plan in 2 phases for our users. On April 30 we first rolled out the OnePlus protection plan in 12 European countries gradually increasing that number to 27 now.

    Keep your OnePlus 8 Series device covered in the event of screen breakage or accidental damages
    1. Screen protection plan:
      Covers your device against damages to the screen and back cover by an accidental drop, crash, or breakage for 12 months.

    2. Accidental Damage Protection Plan:
      Covers your device against damages by an accidental drop, crash, breakage, and liquid.

    Each phase comes with a reasonable extended purchase time in case you already bought the phone and didn't get the chance to purchase the protection plan. If you're picking up your new OnePlus 8 series right now, you can simply go ahead and add the preferred protection plan from the order page.

    Cool. Personally I have not destroyed any of my Oneplus devices but I have seen many people destroying their phones this way. Very nice solution in that case.

    I know your don't have an official online/offline own presence in Switzerland, but loads of us here buy one plus devices from your distribution partners or from Amazon from a neighbouring country. For example, I got the OP8 Ultramarine blue from Amazon Germany. Is there any chance you plan to extend the protection plans in Switzerland to cover our instances, as well ?

    Oh yes, let those Europeans spend even more for the 8 series.. A good case does the job as well.
    Would be more happy with the same promotions you did to get the India sales running..

    I asked support about it, what is my next step, they said to me : return the phone, take a money from refund and buy it again..lol.. Do you have more info about that @Tom B.

    It's kinda gutting and feels like the early adopters are being penalised. Anyone who waited is able to get a free special edition case and buy protection cover whilst the hardened fans who bought as soon as it was released get nothing
