I'm in no position to judge because i dont know what happens in the background of making a new OP phone
but 999$ is way too much
never settle was getting the best for less
the specs and the phone were amazing until we got to the price
    im so disappointed

Dude the OnePlus 8 Pro is only £899, that's almost £160 pounds cheaper than the top line Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra flagship both with 12GB RAM & 256GB Storage.

And for people who can't afford the top tier flagships the regular OnePlus 8 starts at only £599.

OnePlus original long term vision was to be able to make the best smartphone possible. Obviously that costs money in research, design etc. And the OnePlus 8 Pro is still £159 cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra as I previously stated.

The regular OnePlus 8 is cheap at £599 for people who can't afford the top tier flagship phone's. OnePlus can't just magically sell the OnePlus 8 Pro for cheap at a loss, they would lose too much money!

Plus the rumoured OnePlus Z mid range phone coming later in the year for people who want a decent phone at a budget price.

    "only $999" is cheap?
    i mean i have the top 256GB 6T i bought it for 700$
OnePlus added the IP rating and some dumb features just to charge extra
this phone will be the fastest like always
but its no were a OnePlus
never settle was about to beat Samsung and iphone with specs for half the price
not competing with them in price ranges
im not joining this "hype train"
if this year thet demand $999 next year it will be even more.

For all the features, specs, build quality yes the OnePlus 8 Pro is a reasonable price in the top tier flagship smartphone segment. It's the same price as the Huawei P40 Pro model 8GB of RAM & 256GB Storage at £899 but the OnePlus 8 Pro has more RAM. Cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 12GB RAM & 256GB Storage at £1,058.47. Whereas the OnePlus 8 Pro 12GB RAM & 256GB Storage is £899.

Anyone who runs a business will tell you that you will quickly go in the red and bankrupt if you continue to sell products at a loss. OnePlus couldn't continue to sell their top tier flagship Pro model at a loss, it just isn't financially viable.

I'm with you. although I managed to get one that's only because I sold my s20 ultra as I was underwhelmed by it. I managed to cover the cost of the OnePlus pro with that. there's no way I would have paid that money otherwise. I'm also annoyed that the conversion from USD to pounds isn't fair either. that's a dirty trick. but I'm guessing this is what is going to be with OnePlus from now on. they've got themselves recognised on the world stage. they probably think people will pay 999 for their phones now.
but yep I'm very disappointed with the cost. I bet it puts 1000s off

No invitation code to buy it with the popup bundle, for 1K € & without the accesories, No thanks. Already annoyed because I expected something as it was called "event" but it wasn't nothing.

thanks for nothing. I tried to order a wireless charger, instant sold out. then i was too late for a pop-up box, because i thought you need a code to order and searched it everywhere. Thanks for this shit experience

I've read on the NL store there will be invitation codes posted on social media from the 15th on the box. Is that true?
