battery is getting drained at a faster rate and phone is heating up a lot. even after charging it and rebooting it, there is no change, its not like 5-2%, lost 10-20% within an hour without using anything...is it happening coz of new system update? please help, my phone is continuously hot, can't use it properly

It's not Android Pie. It's related to some apps that are bad designed. Mine is updated to pie and works well. And I use it intensively for everything except games. I am not a gamer. Should try to uninstall some apps that might cause problems and see if there is any change.

No it's not pie or oreo not even any app. I experiencing with my op6 and I found the trick. when my phone is on 4g/lte the battery drainage is huge. 15-20% overnight. but if I turn this network from 4g to 2g it's only 3-4%. That's a huge difference. Something in the modem is draining the battery. under Oreo the battery stats showed that under 4g node the phone constantly switching between 4g frequencies and that is what drain excessively the battery. Maybe the have to modify the system code to a longer frequency switching periods to avoid the drainage. with my op5t the periods are way soo longer and that's why the standby consumption is better in op5t on 4g also. please OnePlus software developer team solve this issue! At this state, the op5t is a way better phone than the op6. Do something please!

well whatever the problem is, im sure we all agree on wanting the pie battery performance to be better or at least the same when on oreo.
