yes it heats when any app is running in the background even though it is as small as WhatsApp.. But when no apps running it gives a good battery life.

    Define: excessive.

Does your phone turn itself off? Then it's not excessive.

I've been flashing Android phones since 1.5. Whether it's a custom ROM or a stock update, my experience shows that often, flashing leaves traces of the previous flash in the cache partition. Those traces cause all sorts of problems ranging from poor battery performance to heating issues, from FCs to slow performance, from dropping calls to failing to boot and everything in between.

Wiping the cache often solves those problems. When it doesn't, a clean install (full wipe and reflash) is usually needed.

Think what you want. These are facts known by experienced users.

Plus, looking over your posts, it seems that you are having many of the problems I described above. It also looks like they started after you updated.

Do yourself a favor. Back up all your stuff, boot into recovery, do a full wipe (erase everything), reboot, set your phone up, restore your files and folders from the backup, reinstall your apps, and enjoy your OP3 without those problems.

I know it's a hassle and it's time consuming, but it's less trouble than dealing with constant problems, right?

Try it. Let us know how it works out.

I'm facing the same issue of heating up (upto 43°C) and battery drain. I did the wipe cache thing, I updated the software and also rebooted my phone to start but still the problem persists. Please help.

    Hi
My phone backs out, gets heated up excessively and gets switched off. It doesn't get switched on even after long pressing the button.
