I am curious of the screen in direct sunlight and what users experiences are.
(also personal experience of the screen in general)

As I live in sunny Miami this is a very real issue for me.

Please share your experiences positive and negative in this regard. Feel free to elaborate. reduced-glare-lcd1.jpg 16524.jpg

Better than my S3... a little.

It was very nice though to be brutally honest.

And that lenovo was just to censor porn, not censor the Sun.

No problems observed here... Even works with my Oakley sunglasses... HTC One M8 didn't working with Oakleys due to screen / glass polarization...

I believe it is a multi purpose device...
Probably really expensive and hard to get your hands on. Leave it to lenovo ;)

Came across this tidbit of coding on github that seems to be a newly enable feature:
video: mdss: Sunlight readability enhancement support

    * This hardware supports a postprocessing mode which improves
readbility in bright sunlight. Add support for enabling
this mode when the backlight value crosses a threshold.
    * Enable the feature using /sys/class/graphics/fb0/sre
    * Also add a max backlight level for using CABC. It's not
effective at full brightness and causes too much visible
    distortion with many images.

Well standing in the Australian sun today, I found myself squinting at my screen with the glare. I think they could do better
