Dolby digital plus is buggy and everything works fine, Dolby atmos sounds great but video hardware codecs not working at all and all videos are playing in sw mode very laggy, but the good thing is i backed up my os so i reverted back.

    Hi judhajitmisra,
My OPO just like any other, runs on CM 12.0 and uses Audio FX, I would like to try out "DOLBY ATMOS" ,but before I do that I have few queries:
    1) Should my OPO have root access?
    2) Once Installed, can I revert back to Audio FX?

    Eagerly awaiting for your response.....

Dolby comes as a flashable zip, so:
    1. yes, you need an unlocked device with a custom recovery (TWRP v2.8.6.0 is OK)
    2. you can revert only if you make a backup before, you have 2 options
      • via nandroid backup (make a full backup)
      • via "safe app remover" app, if you remove AudioFX, it create a backup copy that you can try to restore if you want
    3. you also need SELinux permissive (on CM12 you can set it via synaspe or SELinuxChanger)

to have it working you need to change SELinux to permissive,
you should have the dolbi icon in the laucher, and the notifier icon in the status bar
start a song, you should hear the difference by switch dolby on/off, playing with settings, etc

does dolby digital plus not stay on? It stops if I press back out of the app or if I kill all my recent apps. The only way for me to keep it on is if I press home from the app itself
