My phone battery seems to be draining much faster than before, and charging for 8 hours overnight only charges about 20 percent of my battery.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Post battery usage pics so we can see what apps are draining. And are you using the stock opo charger and cable?

Sounds like you have a wakelock, probably running up your processor 24/7. Does the phone get hot constantly?

Post pics of your battery usage

    1) do not allow your batter to get below 30%, doint so will shorten your battery life over time this is due to it being a lithium ion battery

2)dont let the charge get up to 100% all the time, charge up to 98ish percent and let it stay like that over nite, then top it off in the morning.

    hope this helped

I am using the charger, but not the cable. This should not be the problem because things stated right when I updated to cm12,
I wonder why we have so many bugs, today all my files disappeared, not really, but it does not show in the music player and gallery. I have never seen this... I am seriously disappointed

To make sure your battery is fine, power off the device and charge it... note down the time... if it takes more than 2 hrs approx then there is something wrong with the hardware... if not its software part...

The cable you're using might well be the problem. Try the OPO supplied cable & let us know how you get on.

I cant comment on your other issue, however there might be a thread open with problems related to the update.

Deep breath. Slow charging can be attributed to an inadequate cable. Its a known issue and the supplied cable has solved this problem in many, many cases in these forums. So give it a chance.

I cant comment on your update as I did a clean install of COS12 rather than from CM11s. If you really hate your COS12 experience, there's always the option of a factory reset but back up your data before doing so. Check with other threads in case there's any curve balls.

I admit I am not very techy, but not at your mom's level either. End of stupidity.

    Did you root?
If you did then you can try boffela kernel, which have an option to override the charge volt to max 2200 amps.
I was having same problem with stock charger then I tried the kernel it solved my problem.
    it is flawless.
    Give it a try.

Also the OPO has a LiPo rather than Li-ion. Not too dissimilar but still, not the same. Did read somewhere a long time ago on battery university (& other sources) their recommendations but my take was that it doesn't really matter that much as most people would've moved onto their next smartphone by the time the battery gives in completely.
