Aaron2017 , Nov 27, 2021 : Yeah, but there's a setting to keep the phone unlocked when you have it on you, doesn't matter where you are, if that's on it'll stay unlocked too. Have you tried clearing data of face unlock and setting it up again?

camohan , Nov 27, 2021 : I would not be surprised. First Face recognition is only a convenience and not a security method. Same is also notified when one opts for face recognition method. Second, face recognition analyses not only the complete face but lot of finer details like ones eyes, distance between eye and nose, etc. etc. So even if you cover half of your face or with your hand, the finer details are still available for AI to analyse.

Aaron2017 , Nov 27, 2021 : I have the 8 pro, face unlock failed many times when i was wearing a mask and i picked up my phone. But as said above, it's not the most safe method to unlock the phone so i guess things like this can happen.
puccellino , Nov 28, 2021 : As mentioned before, face unlock is not a security protection method. As a matter of interest, does your phone unlock when someone else is wearing a similar mask?
