Face unlock attempts suggestion

  1. StoyanT Eclair Sep 14, 2018

    StoyanT, Sep 14, 2018 :
I really like the face unlock function and am using it frequently. However it is not so secure. I would like to have an option where it is disabled after X failed attempts. So if someone tries to tamper with my phone and try to unlock it face unlock will be disabled after X failed attempts. With X even starting from 1.
That would be a nice option to have.
    Cheers!

Why do you think it's not going to happen?

Because crapple have dedicated hardware for their version most andriod phones don't..

What you are saying makes no sense. So if you aren't going to contribute to the thread and discussion please leave ;)

To have a more secure face unlock, we would need a 3D camera like the one on the iPhone X. But that would imply a bigger notch to put the 3D camera and the sensors. And when you know that the tendency now is to reduce this notch, the day when we'll have a face unlock as secure as FaceID is quite far

Guys... it seems to me you either didn't read the original post or don't understand it.
I am not comparing apple's face unlock to oneplus'.
I am not implying oneplus' face unlock should get more secure by hardware means (what you are talking about).
I would just like to have a SOFTWARE option for the face unlock to be disabled after several failed attempts. In example: if having this option set to 2 failed attempts and someone gets my phone and tries to unlock it whenever face unlock fails to recognize a face 2 consecutive times it should disable itself so the phone can only be unlocked with fingerprint or other methods but NOT with face unlock.

Well it can't be more secure but Oneplus can do what he's asking for in a software update - ( no face unlock after x tried or x seconds)
The "x" he means doesn't mean iPhone x

I was looking for a feature suggestion thread but couldn't find one.
If there is such please let me know so I can post there as well.

As for the "intruder" guy I guess your nickname says it all :D

Yeah you won't understand man lol. Better you stay away and stop acting like you know everything. Of course I know iphone have dedicated sensors and we aren't talking about increasing the security level. Just disable the face unlock after few attempts like how fingerprint disables after few tries.
Still you can't understand what we're talking about. Better stay away from the posts you don't understand

What are you talking about? in terms you will understand...
Apple have more chips and different camera (hardware) in their phones to handle face id andriod phones don't so you won't get the feature via an app not ever!
    Get it now...

This is a possibility; however, how often can your friends even get into your phone. It's still hard to fool the fack unlock of OnePlus, and I wouldn't worry about your friends getting in anytime soon.

No its not.... Not without huge hardware changes oh and designing their own secure version like crapple has, as no one can use their version..

I am not talking about my friends or any particular situation but in general.
I am new to oneplus and I've heard they are very responsive to user feedback.
So I'm giving a feedback/suggestion on how to improve a function.
