Another Solution that worked for a forum member is:

    1) Force-close
    2) Clear Cache (in Settings)
    3) uninstall
    4) Run CCleaner (to be sure :) )
    5) reinstall, re-login...aso

But first try to use an older version of facebook app.

Ok so guys, stop ask OP to fix this problem. You didn't have this bug until this morning, and nothing happened on your Oxygen system between yesterday and today ... So ???????????????????????

Yay, you found it by yourselves, it's not OP fault !

Seriously, just wait a FB update and that's it xD

Mine stopped working last week with the install of v47, I fixed it by installing and using V41. I looked on the google store and a 'new' version of v47 was out (released 28th) I downloaded that and it worked, this morning it was back to being broken again, I installed V41 again and it works.

This is not a Facebook issue it seems to be an issue with 2.1...the only solution a of now is to install Facebook lite or download the v42 of Facebook apk..

On my OnePlus2 phone, facebook keeps on crashing. Is there some update that needs to be down (no system update coming up) or does anyone have a solution. Thanks

I am facing a strange problem since today. The Facebook app is not opening up or rather loading in OP2. On clicking the app, the app tries to load and then fails. No error message or related messages are displayed. It is strange since it was working fine till yesterday.
Is anybody else facing similar issues or any pointers to a potential issue would be very welcome.

Note that I have tried uninstalling the app and re-installing from app store but no avail. Please advise guys.

Same for me. I bought a new phone, just after i started it, there was a message to upgrade to newer version of the Oxygen OS. That is what I did. Then I start installing my application. I installed facebook app. Once I tried opening it, it always crashed.
What works for me is to delete the app, download the apk file from the link from the second page of this thread, install it, go to play store and stop the automatic updates only for facebook and then use it. The first time I made it work, the app updated automatic and start crashing again. So be sure that you stop the automatic updates.

Definitely the problem is not from the facebook app but from Oxygen OS, since this app works on billions of phones and versions of Android.

Hope that oneplus will fix the os soon
