From what ive learnt, USB fast-charge can be enabled by manufacturers for around 5 - 6$ / device.
Now, OnePlus decided to not include it... alright..np...
LG hadn't included them in the G4 ( i think ) either at launch...and then they later payed snapdragon on public demand and enabled it with upgrade.

may be can do this with an upgrade which can be a feature that can be bought by customer as extra pack... fcource that will mean buying other chargers... but for the people who are ready to buy it, why not!

    what do you guys think?

I've heard that the upgrade is free but it require that the phone have the right hardware from the beginning and some that have looked into the OP2 hardware concluded it doesn't support it.

But if it was/is possible I think we already would have had that upgrade option long time ago.

Now how do you expect users to replace the hardware at fault? Not everyone is willing to open up their OP2. The G4 had the right hardware but was waiting for software certification. The OP2 doesn't have the right hardware, it's the USB controller that is not compatible with Qualcomm's Quick Charge.

It's you fault, as a demonstration someone also kindly answered to you:
This was written in the forums, so, if you would have throughly searched you shouldn't have posted a question to something that has already been analyzed and answered.

Just by enabling fast charging in one update, your device won't charge quickly. You need SD certified quick charger.
Oneplus san simply update the device with enable quick charging and sell the SD certified quick chargers for a little bit higher price...

That too if the OP2 hardware supports, I don't think the OP2 hardware supports quick charging.
