it's been 5 months that I have bought a new OnePlus 5T and this happened with the charger cable.

I'm thinking to buy a new one now but what if same thing happens with that one too!!

And you want to blame this is OnePlus fault?

I have 1 year charger cable and still in mint condition.

Buy another dash cable ? Buy a different cable from another manufacturer ?

That can happen, it just means you need to take better care of your cord. Make sure you are not yanking it of the wall or bending it trying to use your phone while charging.

I still have my cables from my One Plus X (USB micro I use with adapter) and they work fine. One Plus cables are good quality. You should take better care of your cable.

Don't use the cable when wires are exposed, fix that one or throw it away and buy a new one!

and the big kink in the cable further down.
plus I never trust people that don't take the plastic wrapping off electronic devices (especially plugs)

It seems that the problem is caused by stretching from the cable, instead of unplugging by grasping the connector,
or exerting too much tension when using the device while being connected.
Oneplus cables are good, but you have to use them correctly

These comments assume the original poster doesn't know basic cable maintenance. Maybe he doesn't; I can't speak for him. But I can speak for myself, and my cable has torn in a similar spot (not at the join; about 6mm down from it. I take the utmost care with all my cables, and I've now seen 4 or 5 people had the same problem.

It's not really acceptable; had the product <2 years. I never wind the cable; I never yank it; I always disconnect/connect carefully; I don't throw it in a bag or anything like that. Some cables in a batch will always be weak; I just wish OnePlus would acknowledge that. £18 for a replacement is steep.

I'll look into this. Did you find it happened to your cable even though you took good care of it?
