You know why they are discontinuing it? Its because their business model is changing. Say good bye to cheap Oneplus phones. The Oneplus 5 will cost at least 550 dollars, so keeping the 3t would be deter from the fact that they are moving to a "premium" brand.

Agreed, all the new Beta features will come as standard one the OP5, I am sure. Get loyal 3t users to do the hard work for them.

As I said...yes they stopped making the 3T faster than expected.
I too thought it should stay in production for a while.
After all, it's still a competitive phone for the market.
But it's all about business, and in this game a few mistakes, can be costly!
Read what happened with Le-Eco in the US.
I have one of their phones as well, but they had too many things going on, and over extended themselves.

Now they make good positive announcements, but soon we will be treated like trash just like oneplus 2 owners. We need software updates minimum for 3 years. This is a very powerful device and I guess It will be compatible with android O,P,Q,R,S at least.

I don't think you'll see 3 years of updates, from here or many manufacturers.
Besides, on average, most people change their phone within 2 years of purchasing.

Not sure about Samsung, but I had thought they are on a 2 year program.
The S5 won't be seeing Nougat as an OTA.
The S6 will get it, however the S6 is 2 years old.
Regardless... I'll never keep a phone that long.
There's always something new around the corner.

I think this is horrible news and very discomforting.
If stable updates are not made for OP3T after this, I will never touch a OnePlus again. :)
