    Hey guys,

Now that the series 7 has arrived with kind of same finger print scanner as 6t but comparatively 7 series has a lot better fingerprint scanner in terms of speed it unlocks in no time also can this feature be there in oneplus 6t as well just with an update or does it require some changes in the device?

    Regards

You seemed pretty sure about both having the same type of sensor.

Both the sensors are not same. The OP7 has a bigger sensor and that's why it is faster.

One thing you might check also...
If you have FACE and FINGERPRINT unlock enabled, turn on the phone while looking at the fingerprint sensor and try to unlock it that way, it will stutter. I find that if you face unlock, it's very fast, and if you have the phone laying down while not looking at it, double tap the screen and use the fingerprint sensor it's very fast, but if you turn on the phone while looking at the phone but not the camera and try to unlock it with the fingerprint sensor, it stutters until you look at the camera. Sort of like it THINKS you want to unlock it with your face, but also sees you trying to unlock it with the fingerprint sensor.

The 7 series has a new and improved sensor which make it just as fast as any other capacitive sensor. The 6t sensor will be made faster overtime with software updates. Although there's a limit to the software enhancement with respect to the hardware as well.

I find that usually the first generation tech feature is soon followed by updated and improved version.

The sensor on the 6T was first generation and it was inevitable that OnePlus was going to improve it on the 7 series. Hopefully they keep improving it.

For me, it isn't the speed that I have issues with, but rather the accuracy. It is fine for the most part, but I could use something a bit more accurate.

I observed that in 6t if you use any Tempered Glass screen protector it will be slowed down. Try Hydrogel screen protector It will work like charm.

Kinda like the debacle with Samsung S10 phones?

I still have the pre-installed screen protector on. I could remove it, but I am not dissatisfied enough to remove that. I am mostly happy with the way it is for now.
