Fingerprint issue only with left hand

This is a weird one ... Sure I saw someone else mention this but can't find the thread on this. When setting up the biometric fingerprint access everything goes fine no issue. I've registered my thumb and index finger on both hands.

So using either finger on the right hand is no issue to authenticate myself. The left hand fingers most times pose a problem not being identified !? ... Anyone else experience the same?

Ummm, it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.... BUT, I must agree! Now I am right handed, but I hold my phone in my left hand and tap with my right. When I unlock the phone I use my left thumb and it always gives me trouble...flaky...hesitant....flashes twice before unlocking. When I use my right index finger or thumb it tends to work better????? This is insane! I think OnePlus needs to just drop what they're doing on the 9 version and get this stupid phone FIXED!!!

Same problem here, I just removed the screen protector as a last try. I would just like to understand if my 8T is defective or all 8t have this problem.

So now I've tried to register say fingerprint 1 by alternating my left and right thumb ... So both thumbs registered under fingerprint 1

And ... Still the same thing ... Struggles to pick up the left thumb 😄 ... Its perplexing

Maybe - you hold your fingers 'extra straight' at the detection screen while setup but when using it and reaching in from the left side - the angel of detection and the area of the finger on screen may be a different one.
This may be a reason for not detecting it right way.

Just wondering how you expect a factory reset to change anything? Specially if already adequate feedback is given?

Are you reading and/or understanding the topics you are answering to or are you just spamming 'factory reset' in amy topics because it's over 10 characters long?

What about actually trying to help and giving good and helpful feedback?

Bro I also face this issue it's not the phone's problem
As I am right handed I also face the same issue cause in all the case we use right hand fingers to unlock....as our we use our left hand less so it will happen....for few days use only your left hand fingers to unlock the device...at starting it will go hard but as you become used to it will go easy for you and you will not face the same issue again 🤗

Why oneplus store don't miss guide people just for the sake of points ..thank u
