For everyone who is suffering with the buggy update to Android 11.0.0.2, I have found a successful solution.

After a chat with Amazon, they are refunding me the full amount for the phone! I've had the phone since launch!

Just wanted to share. Remember you don't have to put up with failed software. You have rights.

Now to find a new phone to buy!

You're sure they're not having a laugh? I'm not saying i don't believe you, but it's hard work to get a refund even within the time frame for refunds, let alone this long after launch.

    Absolutely serious.

I live in the UK and we have a law called, "Consumer Rights Act".

It is very helpful when dealing with faulty products or bad service.

I told them about how my phone is now broken beyond reasonable use because of the new software. My phone isn't mobile if I have to charge it every couple of hours!

    They didn't even question it.

All I have to do is post back.

Anything to do with the 2 year warranty?

Warranty is something with the manufacturer.

Amazon just have great customer service.

So now I'm deciding whether to get the OnePlus 9 or jump ship to Samsung (not had them before). Or even Pixel.

I really did enjoy my OnePlus 7T - but the radio silence from OnePlus over this software failing doesn't feel me with hope for their future. It reminds me how HTC went before they became irrelevant. Once the flagship killer.. then the software would takes ages to update and then no updates.

Well, if it were me and i could get a full refund, i'd go for the money. Even if the update fixes all problems and everything runs smooth, it's still an "old" phone in smartphone land, with only one major OS update left and only a short support period left compared to more recent models.

    Mini update.

I now have brand new OnePlus 8T.
And I'm £50 better off as the refund for the 7T was greater than the cost of the 8T.
Opted for the 256GB / 12GB RAM edition.

Why not the 9 or 9Pro?

For some reason manufacturers see curved glass as a premium feature. When in fact I sit as a complete downgrade to a flat screen. So no 9 Pro.

9 isn't a noticeable upgrade to the 8T and for the price.. no question!

Camera is a little bit of a disappointment though!
