    Somewhere in recovery.

But the new .zip is signed now, so it should not be needed anymore anyway.

I prepared my part, I'm only waiting for Cyanogen Inc to publish the factory images which will happen once the initial OTA rollout is complete. So, it should be here end of week.

NEW: A build that works with all kernels, and XNPH30O (and most likely later versions):

    http://jak-linux.org/cm/cm-unofficial-11-signed-superuser-light.zip

(this only enables root for apps, adb root will not work, as adb blocks it without ro.debuggable=1).

If you want to get rid of it (or flash another su), rm /system/etc/init.d/01su and /system/xbin/su.

Your phone is only wiped if you need to unlock your bootloader. Otherwise, you can just flash this from TWRP or other custom recovery.

You cannot flash a recovery without unlocking anymore. You used a security bug in previous versions that has been fixed now. There's no known way to root without unlocking.

Update (light): Fixed a minor issue in the light version that blocked custom init.d scripts from running.

    Hi Jak,

first of all, thanks for your work.
Now my question, are there differences between the cm own superuser app and e.g SuperSU ?
e.g functions such as logging or is it a integrated version of koushiks app ?

It's an integrated version of koush's superuser. And it has logging and various other options.

Just stumbled across this and it sounds amazing. :D
So the light version just flashes the su binary and not the debug kernel? Is that right?

Yes. This way it's not as powerful (no adb root), but still as powerful as all other su methods.

    Very cool.
But I guess, it doesn't survive an OTA update, does it?
