My biggest gripe with Lollipop is how it handles mute/volume. I still don't quite have it figured out.

    xposed is your thing then

Get xposed > get True Silent Mode

that changes it to be the exact same as on kitkat.

    hell yeah.

Do note that with each ROM update you have to re-flash xposed and reinstall your modules.

Kind of annoying but that's the way it is since xposed installs in /system and /system gets reflashed when you update.

You shouldn't update nightlies every day anyway, better to stick to weekly.. or more often if you must

Hardbrick= Phone does not even turn on (It does not necessarily need that you can not fix it).
Soft Brick= Phone turns on but you cannot either boot the OS or go into recovery or Fastboot Mode.

Maybe... but I see reasons to use them on pure aosp only and not on CM which is already customized.

Also, yes, xposed on art is still experimental and not guaranted to be not causing problems

    True silent mode
    YouTube background playback
    Adaway
    OxygenOS specific: Gravitybox, AppOps

You don't need xposed for AdAway, it's independent app. The rest... I don't need personally. GravityBox is good for aosp though

Nightlies is good... maybe better than 12S. I've read that there will be additions to nightlies that never made it to 12S.
