Use any internet based radio app. Nowadays, FM stations have their own internet radio app.

I've used the paid version of Simple Radio for years and it works great on my OnePlus 7 Pro.

Then they are not really a viable option to those whom are not blessed with a ton of data and want FM radio.

my old Moto x4 had FM built in. I never used it and really don't think it's a good option in places where you have good affordable data plans. streaming is so much better with less static and less commercial jabber and more music. it also required the wired headphones on the Moto handset to be used as an antenna, I never carried one.

where data is slow or expensive I can see it being useful.

Listening to music in music app doesnt cost you much data now a days.. if you use non music apps like youtube.. or any other non specific music apps.. then they may take lots of data..

Here where we are provided atleast 1GB per day with the network plans. music doesnt cost u much. Dunno from where you are based.. and if the data availability is not enough to listen music online.. then.. Oneplus should surely look into this matter.

    No they shouldn't.

If you want FM radio, then buy a small radio that you can fit in your pocket.

My T-Mobile essentials prepaid plan includes unlimited music streaming from select services on top of the 10gb of LTE data per line. you have to be careful with apps like Amazon music as downloaded music like purchased music and prime playlist that you can download for off line use are not included in the unlimited music streaming.
