Force stopping will not do the trick,
You have to clear the storage data of the app.

    No,
Press and hold the files manager app
    Click on app info
    Storage and cache
    Clear storage
    It will ask two options
    Choose clear lockbox's data

Didn't it asking for fingerprint ?

I put my fingerprint and it reset the PIN of the lockbox.

Clear the storage data of the app, it won't delete any personal data.
    Force stop the app
    Now do the same process.

You can unlock it if you have set your fingerprints to unlock your device and lockbox never shows fingerprint option for unlock but it will get open if you try to unlock it using your fingerprint that you use to unlock your phone with.
Then once you gain access to the lockbox move everything out of the lockbox into a folder in the file manager app.
Then try to clear cache of the app as @the_o2 said
After doing that set the password/pin again in the lockbox and move in everything that you had moved.

He can simply put the file manager app in the app locker, it will definitely ask for fingerprint then, I was forgotten to mention that :)
