Open up Whatsapp, Snapchat or Facebook. Place your finger on top of the top microphone and record some sound - see for yourself! And now test it on Instagram or default Camera app - you will see what I mean.

I can confirm this happens both on a OnePlus 6 and 6T, and also with wired and bluetooth headphones. Audio that is picked up by the mics is randomly quiet/way too loud. We use Facebook Messenger video chat, Duo, and Instagram to communicate/chat, and the microphone quality is beyond terrible. Audio is way too quiet most of the time, but sometimes way too loud.

If you use the front facing camera in the stock camera app to record video, it does the same thing. Audio is tinny and hollow. I cannot use apps like Shazam to record music, and even Google Assistant has trouble picking me up.

Has this been fixed in 9.0.3? I've switched to my Note 9 because I use my phone to communicate and film a lot, and I can't rely on my OP6 until this is fixed.

I am facing this issue since i purchased oneplus 6. Earlier i thought its just with my phone. Even when phone normally rings that distorted sound comes.

My girlfriend uses her 6T to play PUBG with me, and the phone ignores her bluetooth headphones' mic and continues to use the internal noise cancelling microphone of the phone...

It would be great if we could get an actual response from OnePlus...

You can cry as much as you want, you will never receive an actual answer.

Supposedly the microphone gets "fixed" in Android Q, now imagine buying a phone but having to wait an entire year for the next Android version to fix deal breaking bugs.
