    Dear community,

my Name is Jan and I am living since more than 1 year in Seoul, South Korea. Originally I am from Germany but after an internship here last year I felt heavily bored in Germany after coming back so it took me 3 weeks until i booked a flight back to Korea.

I am mad for cars, gaming, traveling, snow- and wakeboarding as well as foreign languages and Asian food!

About Oneplus I read last year in summer when Apple just introduced their new Iphone and 9gag made a comparism with the One and posted that via facebook. So i was interested immediately in the company which sells state-of-art smart phones with same quality as the big known brands for 1/3 of their prices.
After 3 months I got the invite for the One while I was in Germany to finalize my studies so I was able to collect my One right before I left for Korea again :)

Of course I enjoyed the product launch via the application with the nicely hidden/implemented invites :) I am still curious when Oneplus is about to tackle the Korean Market with support for South Korea since Carl Pei mentioned a heat for the south-asian market within the next decade during the product launch of the 2 or in a video around that, sorry I can't remember exactly.
Until then, I will be busy to wait patiently for an invite to order the 2, just to be even more impatient when I have my next business trip to Germany or time for holiday in my home country to pick it up then :)

Any other people here from Korea btw?

Anyway, happy Chuseok. / 추석 잘 보내세요.

    Regards,
    Jan

Hi! :) I have some Korean friends and all they thought me were curse words. LOL

(In exchange for some Filipino curse words, so they know when someone is talking trash to them in Filipino.)

It is really extraordinarily interesting! As soon as you leave the business world, you have to face a culture which is still in the process to open for foreigners. E.g. there are ~40,000 Germans living in Shanghai (considering Germans who have stated in their passport to actually live there). All over Korea there are ~2800 Germans. Of course Korea is much smaller than China but since Seoul is the second biggest Area of people living together in one place, this is still impressive.
Furthermore, few people only speak English in a way that you can have actually conversation with them. So you basically face the language challenge in the beginning everyday, even during grocery shopping, in restaurants etc. That is why I decided to start learning the language. People appreciate that a lot and they treat you so nicely when they realize you are trying to adapt.
