It pops up, but there is no image feed. Keeps opening and closing. Which means, face recognition is not an option anymore. Incidentally, When I tried logging into one of my Google accounts, the Google verification page identified my phone as Nord.. Just so happens that the October 1st Android security update was only released for Nord and later models and not for the 7 series. Can anyone tell me if there is a fix planned? Or is there one already out there that I'm not aware of?
Artemus , Nov 14, 2021 : The camera problem is more than likely a hardware issue, some people have had success with getting it repaired by a service tech. As for the Google verification page, I've never heard of this happening...

Same when trying video calls, selfies etc. If getting looked at by a technician is all it takes, I wouldn't mind. As for the phone being recognised as a Nord by Google 2step verification, this was the first time that happened since I started using my phone which is what has strongly given me the idea that the fault is software based and not a hardware issue. Moreover, going over the posts of many similar users, the problem seems to have started from the October 1st Android Security Update.

One plus is losing its credibility as a money saving brand. I've started looking at the Pixel 6 to replace my OnePlus 7 pro. Fingers crossed at least I have better luck and pull that phone for the next 4 years at least.
