Hi. There are 100's to 1000's of these identical issues since a recent update that was made as early as August 2020. My claim of 100's to 1000's comes direct from TMobile representative as that was my first place to go for help. I am one of those affected as well, and it continues today. Fortunately it's only pop-up camera issue (black screen, and camera app crashes). I've performed resetting phone; install various versions of Android OS; problem persists. Doesn't matter what I believe, but anyone saying it is hardware I believe knows little to nothing of electronics characteristics and/or are not using this model (OP7Pro) and chiming in with their thought without reading forum.

I've gone as far as providing log reports to OP (at OP request) which Oneplus had to help me complete as it was a bit advanced and unfamiliar to me on how to complete. OnePlus does seem to be actively working on this (bughunters is a login ID name for team or some at OP accessing my log file trying to figure it out).

I believe update in August (10.3.6 I believe it is) introduced specific code which impacted kernal (which would make it so even if you roll back OS, issue will remain)...

I think it's software issue, go to OnePlus service center.

exact same response here, took quite a bit of time to collect the requested logs and sent it to support. no response whatsoever since despite multiple requests for a status update

Installed OP 10.3.7 today with updated security patch hoping it would resolve issue that started after 10.3.x update that came with an August Security Patch.

No luck with 10.3.7. Whatever OP sent out in that 10.3.x updated has affected all of our phones that have a specific type of hardware. It appears the 10.3.x and August patch has corrupted internal firmware.

Yes I experienced the same problem . First randomly the front camera started crashing and today even the back camera and apps like message , amazon are freezing with blank screen . I downgrade to android 9 and still front camera doesn't work . This is very bad on part of oneplus . We need a solution.

Same issue here, seems to be kernel issue as resetting does nothing. Seems like a big problem for OnePlus as they haven't managed to find a fix in over 3 months...

    Company gets worse and worse

If rolling back does not help wouldn't it be possible with a hardware failure?

You think 100-1000s of people's hardware failed at the same time? All causing the same problem?

Have all those people rolled back and checked if the camera comes back to life?
If it is just a software bug it should work again. My previous response was exactly a case like that. Rolling back did not help. Would you say it is a software issue in that case?

A previous coworker had to get his 7T Pro repaired. In that case a mechanical failure.

I read page 12 to 29 from the last update thread... From all those posts I saw very few camera issues.
And here we are in a post started in June... All posting herehave software bugs behind the camera problems despite of all kinds of different software versions?
There are many sold devices. Don't you think a few percentage might break of various reasons? How many percent is 100-1000 devices in the whole world? All I asked about was to verifiy the root of the problem. Having a hardware issue and hoping for an update... Waste of time isn't it? I would want to verifiy it and get it repaired myself.

People seem to think a previous update has caused corruption of kernel. If you factory reset kernel files aren't touched.

I've just had a remote session with a technician, and my phone wasn't able to load bootloader properly, so there is obviously some kernel issues. So I cannot flash my device.

The technician thinks that there is a patch coming within the next 2 weeks that should hopefully have a fix. I'm going to wait for that and if not send off to repair.

I didn't mention factory reset though. Was refering to the rollback to 9.
Or you mean kernel files are not touched when using those rollbacks either?
How about the msm unbrick method?

So I updated my op7p to beta 19 and the issues I have are
Front and rear camera not working at at all (black screen not crashing)
teams call not connecting (which is the main deal breaker for me)
    youtube keeps loading main page
    flash not working

    What I tried:
    factory reset
switching between EU / Global different android 10 versions including 10.0.10.
    Flashing from EDL /TWRP
    With or without magisk
Different versions of kernels. (After/ stock)
Downgrading / updating camera and camera service apk.
    Flashing hydrogenOS.
    Custom ROMs..

Using adb logcat I found that the camera service isn't responding.

    I don't have warranty..
    Device GM1913
The device works without selfie camera in android 9.5.1.

Let's try to debug this, comment your's ideas!

If rolling back to 9.5.1 and all the other things you did did not fix selfie cam wouldn't that practically exclude a software issue?
What part would stay the same despite all that and continously break camera?

Because I can't see any reason for a hardware issue (no drops etc), only if they fried the selfie camera with the update...

Voltage regulation of camera modules is probably not adjustable via software and even if it was hardware limits of what can be done is used.
Stuff can break even with normal use of various reasons.

Same issue here, factory reset doesn't fix. I wouldn't bother, msm unbrick doesn't work. Flashing 10.0.4 doesn't fix.
