It's not THAT bad, but I hope you didn't purchase a OnePlus device based on camera expectations. OP has never been known to be top-tier when it comes to their cams. And usually front cams are the least of importance in comparison to rear shooters.

The back camera is pretty decent but the front one is actually that bad. even in good light, the picture turns out to be washed out.

Regardless, what "mid-range" devices exactly are better than the OP6T, since that's your claim? Just curious.

Not necessarily saying in your situation, but a lot of "bad quality camera" complaints are due to users not knowing how to take proper photos with the correct lighting, framing, etc.

Possibility you may have a defective front cam, if your photos are in fact that bad? Post some examples of your shots.

It's the software of the phone which sucks.
Don't use the OnePlus Camera app, it truly sucks. Even with rear camera pictures.

Front cameras are rarely amazing. If you want good photos you'll need to make sure you're in well lit stations otherwise it'll probably be poor.

If it's not good enough then do some research and buy a phone that has a well regarded front facing camera

Then try the Gcam port. Or buy one of the multiple mid-range devices that you say are better. You have options, nobody is forcing you to use OP.

Then what was the point of this entire thread you created? Seriously. You don't like the stock cam, you say Gcam crashes, you say mid-range devices are better... what do you want US to do to help you, just being users like yourself? Now it's very apparent you created this thread to just complain, and that's all. You're not looking for help or anything of the sort. Either deal with what you have or sell the OP and buy another device.

    Someone close this thread already.

Yeah I don't like the stock camera app for front cam, it's blurry and washed out because it seems to prioritize seeing your face too much, it over exposes so that your face is perfectly visible, but its too aggressive in doing this, where Google cam it's more natural light, your face is still visible too but just not as bright

Are you stressed with your life or what??, I was just saying, how about if the stock camera is good enough so we can take some good pictures without having any third party camera app which doesnt crash.

To be fair you didn't actually say that.

You said this: "Front camera quality is so bad, it doest even compare to mid range phones nowadays."

You also posted it in the support section where people post about issues they need resolved and not nebulous comments about how the front phone quality is bad and doesn't compare to mid range phones.

OnePlus has a feedback section on their website you can use. I agree, this thread is utterly pointless.

The best stable video can be only recorded with oneplus devices. In terms of quality it rivals the big flagships. In terms of video stability its the best in the smartphone market. The only drawbacks are highlights are over exposed and cropping result. Try change your scenario or adjust the frame you will get better results

Hey, i have the same problem on my brand nee OnePlus 7. My images keep going blurry and it looks like theres some kind of beauty or skin softener on, even though there are not. This is really annoying, i hope that future updates will fix this...
