There should be a setting in display settings to allow apps to run in full screen mode.

You're wrong my friend. YouTube supports 19:9 perfectly fine. Go to settings -> display -> app display in fullscreen -> select the apps you want to run in fullscreen mode. This option will allow YouTube as well as other apps that supports it to cover the edge to edge display & make the content more immersive.

    Hope this helps
    Regards

Most videos are shot in 16:9 aspect ratio. Every phone that comes with a 18:9 or 19:9 display will force scale YouTube videos be it a S9 or a iPhone X. It's just how this works. But if the video is shot in 18:9 then you won't have to pinch to zoom, the video will natively cover the full display.

In the display settings you can choose whether or not to support fullscreen in each app, and as for YouTube videos not filling the screen, that's because the videos weren't shot in 18:9 aspect ratio, filling to fit the display width-wise means the usual 16:9 videos will have some letterboxing. If you zoom into the display with two fingers it will expand the video to fill the entire display. For the majority of videos this will cut off some of the top and bottom of the image but if you're watching a widescreen video like a movie clip, etc. it will fit perfectly.

The OP community app itself has a yellow tint, not your screen. you can see this by opening your keyboard in the app and comparing the keyboard's white to the app's off-white

that is actually an intended feature. many apps segregate the notch into a separate color. I know for a fact YouTube does it when you're scrolling through the menus in portrait mode. not a glitch

that black space at the top is for the search bar. if you switched to a light there for a second it would look less wasted.

The YouTube video is 16:9, your screen is wider. Are you asking for a setting that would chop off the top and bottom of all your videos, or a setting to warp the video so everyone looks fat???

You can't open a new thread because you are a newb and you are supposed to read first, not hijack someone's thread with off-topic chatter.

1 - It's not a defect. Make sure your Display is set to sRGB for best accuracy.

    2 - Intended

    3 - Intended

My advise is to post in the appropriate Starting Point forum for Cupcakes

Recently purchased OP6.... this is the second time I am charging the phone... I do not get the dash symbol while charging... after repeatedly plugging in and out, once I was able to see the blue LED and the dash charging symbol appeared with a blink.... also it took 1 hour 45 minutes for the complete charge.... adding to the above, I see the battery getting drained faster when compared with my friends OP5T.... roughly it was for 18 hours with just Data pack on (yet to check with WIFI). with no music or videos on... hardly used... is there an issue with my phone? totally disappointed.. the OnePlus toll-free number also doesn't work... could anyone please help me out with the above mentioned issues.

In settings you can go to display, then app display in full screen and toggle YouTube or any app you want and choose 'Fullscreen mode'.

I got the same problem, turns out my power socket wasn't working well. Try connecting the phone to another one.
And about the battery draining issue. I had the OP 5, and that phone had a Better battery life. so you aren't on your own
