Galaxy S5 user spending a day with the OnePlus One

I owned a Samsung Galaxy S5 since the day it came out. I just got my OnePlus One. Here are my initial pros/cons. Basically the speed is much better! It must be the clean OS without touch wiz junk.

    Pro's:
-Camera on the OPO opens faster
-Camera on the OPO takes better, more accurate pictures in low light
    -lockscreen gestures
-OPO's keyboard, launcher, settings app, and much more open faster than on the Galaxy S5
-Snapchat, Vine, Google Play music were very buggy on my Galaxy s5. No issues with OPO so far (and I did a complete data/app/apk trashier from my galaxy s5 to OPO)
-no writing or color differences on the front. Just looks like a giant screen.
-messages app opens & sends message noticeably faster than galaxy s5
    -packaging of the OPO
    -battery life on OPO

    Cons:
-back feels too rough for me
-very big phone, but I'll get use to it

They will eventually offer different backs (July 22nd?) so you should be able to change them out if you want a different feel.

It would be great if you shared photo samples of S5 and OPO in here so we can also compare. Make sure you upload full sized photos.

I'll do those soon. I plan to sell my galaxy s5 sometime this week. I can't believe how much the OPO blows the galaxy S5 away

I'm worried about the size too, mainly to do with one handed use, but I'm hoping it's not going to be an issue, or least that I can get used to it

Thanks for posting this! I'm a Galaxy user too. By the way, I see you are member #125,094. How did you get the phone? Just curious as I'm #127,835 and fear I won't be able to wait before my older model Galaxy dies all together.

Nice! I was torn between the two as I had a S4 and loved it.

Thanks for the input. In anticipation to perhaps getting this for my wife, I took her to the local electronics retailer to test a few 5.5in phones. She also got to test the iphone5s and to be honest, it felt sluggish.

    Looking forward to smooth-as-pie experiences

I have medium sized hands and one handed use is a bit funky, but nothing that I can't manage.

I can't find link at the moment but I saw a test between S4 and Oneplus using some diagram chart (to test accuracy, vertical lines etc etc) and S4 was slightly better than Oneplus camera. Is S5 camera performing worse than S4 or that test was flawed?

One handed use is not possible for me. With big hands it possible, but still awkward.

Definitely the OPO; no contract, cheaper price, overall better expierience. You get better specs and a better running operating system. I honestly have no idea how people deal with the Galaxy lineup. I noticed since day 1 TouchWiz was slow, but I chose to ignore it. Plus with this phone we get the guaranteed Cyanogenmod updates.

HUGE difference, I noticed the OPO was faster during the setup process. My galaxy would lag when pulling up the keyboard for text input. No lag whatsoever on the OPO's keyboard.

I wouldn't say the test was rigged, but cameras perform differently depending on the conditions. Lowlight, OPO wins. Haven't tested enough outdoor conditions to judge further

Also another HUGE PLUS. The OPO has Privacy guard built in which doesnt let apps access phone data without your consent.

It'll ask you for example: "Facebook wants to use your location."
Allow, deny, & remember my choice.

Makes me feel a lot safer with sketchy apps such as ShowBox.
