    Hello there,

I installed gcam on my device from APKMirror, but was put off it when it was asking me for every permission under the sun. Is it safe to use? Specifically this mod: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/arnov...ra-port-2-2-190716-1800build-6-2-030-release/

I've uninstalled it and ran a virus scan on it (bit fearful of me, I know) just to make sure before running it, and it came back clear, however, I just wanted to hear the general consensus from people here. Is it safe to grant all these permissions to a fan-made port of Google Camera?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

It is completely safe. It is made by xda developers. How else can a camera app work without asking camera, microphone and storage permissions?

Understood. Thanks. It was just the requirement for location I was a bit skeptical about. Thanks for the reassurance. :)

apkmirror is safe! but if you are really paranoid why not download it from the official site! camera app needs various permissions, you can just deny the ones which you find unnecessary!
