It is caused by a 3rd party app that you have installed, which is using google adsense

It's an app issue not OnePlus issue,

Oxygen OS is not MIUI which in build ads inside the OS.

Better to find that app and change it settings.

what does google ad settings have to do with the ads being displayed in your phone?
you have an app that is pushing ads. check the last app you installed before this started.

Google Ads is not related to your Android device. It is a service used by 3rd party apps for advertisement. Whenever an ad pops up next time, go to Playstore>My Apps and Games>Installed and sort the list by 'Last Used' and you should be able to find the app causing pop ups.

did you install any whatsapp sticker apps etc recently? check once.

Also, somebody else might borrow your phone for some time and install any app unknowingly. better check once and delete apps which you don't know / don't need.

google will not show ads like that it must either a third party app that you have installed or maybe you clicked on some link while browsing. try clearing all the data in browsing history or check for any unwanted apps that may have been installed without your knowledge

settings > apps > scroll to the bottom and check for an app without any name/logo (I don't remember exactly) > uninstall it.

Next time you get ad. Don't close it, hit recent app button. You'll find culprit app. Delete that or change settings of that app. Uc browser, truecaller or any battery saver app are primary causes of ads.

check your apps list again. disable permission for apps which you don't use often. and uninstall apps u don't recognize. also check and see if any app is recently updated that may be the culprit. Also google does not push add but just that they provide your information to those who push adds. jio ,true caller and uc browser mi store were the culprits for me.

Go to Settings, type in Device Admin, then check apps that have Device Admin access. Unauthorise the one that looks suspicious.
