Press and hold the gmail app
    Click on app info
    Set it to don't optimise

Force stop the app and restart your phone once and see if it makes any difference.

I have the same issue with Gmail.
Worked a couple of days as I got the new phone but now it doesn't work.
    Battery optimization is turned off.
As many users have reported this problem I think it has to be solved by Oneplus.

    Same issue here as well.
    Battery optimization off.
    All notifications correctly set.
I have read somewhere it is an issue but no ETA on a fix

It might work, but only for a couple of hours or days. Then it stops working again.

Got thiese steps through op support

    3. Update all the GMS apps and check
    4. Wipe cache reboot through recovery mode.

I have exactly the same issue about Gmail notifications not received.
Sync is enabled, all notifications are enabled, battery optimization is set to "not optimized" for Gmail, there is no restriction defined for the App, I cleared data and cache...
It really looks like a proper bug, from Oxygen OS, Android 11 or Gmail itself.
I raised a ticket on OnePlus side and hope a solution will come soon from any of these parties.

I got the same issue here with my Gmail notification. I have tried all the options. It didn't help. Hi OnePlus system, please help on this matter. Looks like it's a very common issue with maximum users. It needs to be fixed.

This has to be fixed guys! I tried every possible suggestion but there is no permanent fix. After some hours/days the gmail sync gets stuck.

Same issue. Default settings and phone setup from scratch without any migration tools. Tried toggling sync on/off without effect. I have personal and work profile in use.

I've received a notification at the same time when opening Gmail itself, for something a day old...

I ended up installing Spark. Notifications for my 3 mailboxes are now pushed nearly instantly.

My guess is this bug is coming from Android 11 (or its implementation in Oxygen OS), as GMail always worked perfectly with my good old OnePlus 6T running Android 10.

If it is corrected in a coming update, and if I am not hooked by Spark, I might come back to GMail later.

I tried all the things you guys mentioned above, and I'm still not getting notifications.

It is really amazing that such a small thing can't even be fixed with four updates. This is my first OnePlus phone and to be honest, I won't recommend it to any of my friends.

Using a phone shouldn't require a typical user to dive into those settings, this is the most basic function.
