After updating oxygen os to 9.0.2 version, Google play services app is draining my battery continuously.

I have tried clearing cache, removing data also disabling notification for the app to no help.

There is no option to restrict background usage for this app. It is also using data continuously.

Any suggestions on how to reduce battery usage for google play services are welcome

You can try clearing the cache of the app, as well as data to see if that fixes it. You may end up having to do a factory reset of the phone though. This is a Google issue as if you do a google search of it, you would find people have been and still are complaining about it across devices.

Then that leaves factory reset. Back up anything you want to keep

I disabled notifications for google play services and also removed location access permissions from most of the apps., now it's running properly no battery drain
