All these threads discuss about activating Google Assistant on Nougat 7.0 CM OS. This guide for those who do not want to install unstable and buggy CM14 just to use Google Assistant. This method works on CM 13 and an other AOSP based Marshmallow roms.

Only this one forum page originally created for OnePlus 3 seems similar to the method discussed above.

Yepp..I saw that this for MM..but the device was the OP2 so i searched and there was already one method being discussed...So I shared it ...i was thinking why not merge the Methods by two different post in the same thread.

There's an exposed module that gives you google assistant without having to use N-ify or go through all that.
Just go download the module (assistant enabler ) activate reboot and done!

This app seems incompatible with OnePlus 2 running CM 13. Maybe for N builds only.

That seems to be a more easy and working solution. I'll add this method to the main thread post.

Yeah using it for a over a week and a half now working great. Even settings and everything. So simple just plug and play. I was using the N-IFY module before with chrome beta to get it working but I didn't like all the N-IFY stuff and noticed the stand alone module.

I've disabled N-ify and tried this module but not working. I don't know what went wrong.

And why did you use Google Chrome Beta with N-ify to get Assistant working?

Tried it without it and it didn't work with N-IFY. Just flashed the module and nothing happened so it was suggested that maybe you needed chrome beta. So I just went on the play store chrome app clicked become a beta tester for the hell of it and it worked. Maybe you need to be on chrome beta for this stand alone module to work as well. there is a thread about it already in op3 dev section but should be the same for everyone. also maybe you will need to clean the cash in the Google app to get it working as well since that was suggested in the old N-IFY thread.

so to sum it all up I became a beta tester cleared Google app data for N-IFY already so didn't know if that was needed to just flash the Stand alone module since it was already done you can try that. Hope that helps. let me know.
